The Quran is Word of God (Q. 6:115) and guidance to mankind in everything (Q. 16:89). It is the Truth (Q. 2:147) and the divine Criterion to distinguish truth from untruth (Q. 25:1). In other words, the Quran is the Universal Reference Standard for Truth given to mankind. It goes without saying therefore that any information that is inconsistent with the Quran will be false. Such information be it in science (e.g., certain theories), religion (e.g., several hadiths) or in any other domain of epistemic space will remain controversial and is destined to be rejected eventually. As the Quran puts it:
وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ ۚ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا
17:81 And say: The truth (the Quran) has arrived and falsehood has vanished. Indeed falsehood is non-lasting.
There are several theories in science that are at variance with the Quranic revelations. Consider the following theories to understand the plight of such theories.
